In 1979, Gordon Hayward published his first article for Horticulture Magazine. He went on to write for the magazine for 25 years. He was also a contributing editor at Fine Gardening Magazine for six years and a contributing editor for Organic Gardening Magazine. He is the author of eleven books on garden design, two of which have won national awards.
